| Assemblies
of God, Vashi started as a small congregation
in 1979. A group of brothers & sisters came
|
| together
to worship the Lord in truth and spirit. Br. Mathew
Samuel and Br. Achankunju pioneered
the |
| ministry.
This group was regularly meeting at Br.Mathew Samuel's residence. This prayer
group became |
| an
established church in 1981. Pastor Koreth was
the first official minister. They conducted regular |
| Sunday
evening worship at Sacred Heart School, Vashi. About 25 believers attended
the service. In 1984 |
| this
church faced a severe situation and was regrouped. |

In April, 1987, Pastor Thomas
Abraham took charge of this congregation. He continued as Pastor
till |
| February
1994. Since then the church is being led by Rev. Mathew
Varghese. Under his able |
| guidance
and leadership , Bethestha A.G. made a remarkable
growth. At present, more than 125 |
| believers
are coming together at St.Lawrence School, Vashi to
worship the Lord on every Sunday. |
